Do you want to be part of the solution?
If you have land that you want to use for good while you generate some extra income – we want to hear from you!
Why should you use your land for carbon offsetting?
- Be part of a sustainability project and contribute to a greener world
- Make money off your land and diversify your land investment
- Make your land more natural and support local wildlife
- Help mitigate the negative effects of climate change on rural communities
- Look after your future, your family’s future, and your community
Using your land for carbon offsetting allows you to capitalize on the benefits of the move towards a lower-carbon economy. When you join Green Restoration Ireland’s projects, you will receive a leasing fee for use of your land.
By preserving and increasing the quality of boglands and woodlands, responsible landowners ensure that carbon dioxide is continually withdrawn from the atmosphere.
For landowners who recognize the importance of removing CO2 from the atmosphere, Green Restoration Ireland offers an opportunity to be part of the solution. You can engage in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions while also receiving compensation.
If you are still unsure of the importance of removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, we welcome this learning opportunity. We can discuss the benefits and the processes with you and support you on your journey.
In addition to fulfilling this socially responsible role, landowners receive annual money awards and public accreditation for their efforts, as well as cutting-edge technical support and development services throughout the entire project.
We will do all the work on your restoration and reforestation projects. If the land is bogland we will rewet it and restore it to its natural condition. If it is better suited to woodland we will plant it with native Irish trees.
We also manage all the paperwork and assessments. We will connect your land with an organisation or individual who wishes to offset their carbon, and their funds will be used for the development. We will handle all the contracts for you, so you can just sit back and enjoy the slice of nature we rebuild.
Is now the right time?
Absolutely. We all know that change is coming. Climate change is accelerating due to human actions and government inactions. Organisations and individuals want to take things into their own hands and take responsibility for their impact.
Becoming a green company is not just trendy, it is becoming expected. All kinds of businesses are getting on board. Everyone wants to know that the brands they buy from are doing the right thing.
There is also a change coming from the agricultural side. The Irish Government want to reduce the emissions of the agriculture industry, which is one of Ireland’s biggest emitters. This will most likely include reducing herd and flock sizes. Leasing land to environmentally focused projects could help support your revenue through this change as well as helping the environment.
Farmers are intimately connected with the land and the climate. Extreme weather events and changing seasons will impact growth rates and land yield. Floods can knock out entire fields, and droughts can increase costs. These weather events and changing weather patterns are a result of chaotic climate change. Working against climate change is in every landowner’s best interests.
Finally, it is the right thing to do.
Things are changing and we need to work together for a solution that will benefit us all.
